Stages of a New Construction Inspection

Our New Home Inspection service covers five key stages of construction, providing comprehensive oversight from foundation to finish:

  1. Pre-Pour Slab Stage Inspection
This inspection occurs before the concrete slab is poured, allowing for immediate rectification of any issues with the footings, steel reinforcing, and termite protection.

  2. Frame Stage Inspection
This inspection occurs after the frame is erected and the roof trusses are installed, focusing on compliance with building standards for wall heights, nogging, bracing, and roof truss installation.

  3. Lockup Stage (Pre-Plaster) Inspection
This crucial inspection happens before the plasterboard goes up, providing a final opportunity to identify defects in framing, plumbing, electrical rough-in, brickwork, and insulation.

  4. Fixing Stage Inspection
This inspection focuses on the installation of plasterboard, doors, skirting boards, architraves, cabinetry, and the critically important waterproof membranes in wet areas like bathrooms and laundries.

  5. Handover Stage Inspection
This final inspection ensures everything has been completed to a satisfactory standard, including paintwork, energy efficiency compliance (six-star or seven-star rating), and the proper functioning of doors, windows, and cabinets.
